Students currently studying with a CCMTA teacher are given the opportunity to participate in a variety of programs and contests. All teachers in good standing may enroll one or more pupils as Student Affiliates which affords additional opportunities.
General Student Programs
Hymn FestivalParticipants develop an appreciation of sacred music and proficiency in its performance through keyboard, instruments and voice.

Parrie James FestivalProvides an opportunity for piano, vocal and instrumental students to perform and receive unbiased evaluation and rating of performance.

Opportunity to share Christmas, Winter Holiday and Seasonal music with other music students and teachers.

Theory ExamsEvaluates students' knowledge and ability to apply theory, aural, and musicianship concepts across a broad musical spectrum.

TMTA Performance ContestPremiere event for students who wish to perform and compete at the highest level. Local winners go on to compete in Regional contest.

TMTA Piano Ensemble
The state of Texas is home to the largest piano ensemble program in the United States. Each year at convention, over 6000 students have an opportunity to perform in one of nine concerts on a stage with 15 grand pianos. The TMTA Ensemble Program gives the beginner, intermediate, and advanced piano student the unique opportunity to play with other pianists in a piano ensemble.
